I’m Mercedes, founder & current CEO of Ivan’s™️ .
I’ve always loved peanut butter and especially loved to eat some from a spoon as a snack. But something spectacular happened sometime in 2013..
I had just birthed my son, Ivan a few months earlier so my husband and I went grocery shopping in one of the retail stores in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. I was about to grab a jar of peanut butter off the shelf when I noticed a different jar, sitting elegantly close by. Curiosity made me take another look.
I discovered the label read “natural” and it had some oil settled to the top of the butter, so I took some more time to read the label. The ingredient list had just one ingredient and when I finally had a taste at home, I knew there was no going back to the other brands.
A fee weeks later, I was back at the store but that product was never there again, or in any other store. It was a foreign brand.
I knew there would be other people who would enjoy the natural peanut butter as much as I did so I had to find a way. I started researching and experimenting on creating my own product. I got the perfect taste and texture after what seemed like a 100 tries, LOL.
I kept making peanut butter for my family for years and was happy to make for anyone who asked, free of charge.
I finally started Ivan’s™️ in July 2020 from my kitchen with the creamy peanut butter and its been an interesting journey ever since.
At Ivan’s™️, we are committed to creating healthy, yet delicious food products without added sugar, hydrogenated oil and preservatives/fillers.
We are a female owned business with predominantly female workforce, committed to empowering women.
